Julie and Tim planned their wedding vow renewal for their 11th Wedding Anniversary, and chose the gorgeous Tieve Tara Gardens at Mt Macedon for their ceremony. My brief was to re-create their original wedding photos, add some new poses and ideas, and also to capture their beautiful three children and some lovely family moments as they celebrated with family and friends.
Who would have guessed that on their special day it was also the weekend that Mt Macedon and all of the gardens on the Mount were filled with every tourist within a 250km radius – it appeared that everyone had decided to visit Mt Macedon and be photographed with the beautiful coloured autumn leaves! There were hundreds of people everywhere and my ideas for relaxed, romantic photos by the Tieve Tara lake and strolls along leafy garden paths were very quickly nixed. We settled for our roped off garden corner which featured a huge old oak tree and a thick carpet of red and default autumn leaves.
I witnessed a few tears during their renewal ceremony, and after the certificate was signed, rings re-exchanged and love locks linked, everyone relaxed and enjoyed the most amazing feast created by Julie. Scones with jam & cream, antipasto platters, macarons and mini fruit tarts were devoured by guests along with a gorgeous two tiered wedding cake. It was a simply beautiful afternoon in the garden, and an honour to be there witnessing the love between two very special people.
