I’d been looking forward to photographing Julie & Ross’s wedding for a long time! Julie chose the same bridal flowers as a previous bride (gorgeous blooms from Christie at Floriography as seen at Erin & Luke’s wedding last year) and l was very much looking forward to photographing them. Plus we had a practice engagement session a few weeks ago, so l knew that we were all going to be comfortable with each other on the day. AND…their wedding was at one of my favourite Melbourne venues – Goona Warra Vineyard in Sunbury. Oh … and did l mention that one of my favourite celebrants ever was officiating – Lynton Round. (highly, highly recommended!)
AND..it was just as much fun as l knew it was going to be. I arrived at Julie & Ross’s house to find her and her family having pancakes for breakfast, so took some time to photograph the dress, shoes and bouquet. We drove to Essendon for hair & makeup, and then it was back to the house and time to get dressed. I’ll never forget the look on Julie’s dad’s face when he walked through the door and saw her in her wedding dress for the first time – just beautiful.
Ross and his best man were waiting in the cellar at Goona Warra, and a beautiful ceremony was followed by family photographs and some time spent wandering the gardens for bridal portraits.
A highlight of the reception was Julie & Ross’s choreographed wedding dance, but l really do think her dad stole the evening with his moves as he carved up the dance floor late into the night!
Sincere congratulations to you both on your marriage – and best wishes for a wonderful life together and lots of house renovations xxx
