All weddings are my favourite, (truly, l love them so much!) but there are always a few that will remain in my heart forever – Jacqui & Dave’s is one of them. I met these two in a Sunbury cafe, and we seemed to hit it off straight away. They are laid back, have a wonderful sense of humour, and have a gorgeous rapport with each other – l think one of the first things they told me was that it was a family joke that the combination of their two last names meant that their new married surname could be ‘Shattard’. So the laughs started pretty early on LOL.
They decided they didn’t want ‘getting ready’ photos but they did want to have their portraits before the wedding, so we incorporated a ‘First Look’ at Fairfield Park Boathouse about 2 hours before their wedding ceremony at East Elevation in Lygon Street. Melbourne’s Friday afternoon peak hour caused a bit of a traffic jam, but all went smoothly, and after photos in the afternoon sun we jumped in our various cars and headed off to East Elevation for the ceremony.
It was so beautiful to watch – you wouldn’t think that these two had seen each other beforehand – Dave had a few tears, and Jacqui looked so radiant and happy as she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was filled with laughs as Mr and Mrs ‘Shattard’ tied the knot, and it was then onto cutting their beautiful Cheese cake and celebrating into the night.
ps: check out the note that Jacqui’s best friend gave to Dave when she decided these two were made for each other.
Congratulations to you both, l am so thrilled that l was there for your special day!
